London Warriors Basketball Club (LWBC) was founded in 2002 with the sole aim of developing the fundamentals of basketball in girls and boys of all ages, backgrounds and abilities from 7 to 18+. They promote sporting achievement by entering their teams in tournaments and leagues from local to international level, and also take a more holistic approach to the activity by using team building skills, group dynamics and diversity awareness to foster the broader development of the young people. They can then go on to take up any kind of role within the sport, all the way up to becoming professional players or running their own basketball organisation.
We provided funds for an on-line training service, developed in response to the pandemic, and have also helped them coordinate with other groups in the area who can assist them in meeting their growing training needs and help them more generally to develop as an organisation.
